For regular readers of this blog, they’ll know I’m a huge fan of the classic action film, Billy Jack. A lot of the DNA that makes up the Quinn Colson saga comes from 1970s action flicks and Billy Jack more than most. The set up is pretty simple: Ex Green Beret and Hapkido master Billy Jack defends a Native American school from a ruthless group of small town folk who see the counterculture movement as a threat. In Billy Jack‘s key scene — where a group of students are humiliated at an ice cream parlor (trust me, it’s cool) — we hear that iconic line: “Sometimes I just go berserk!” I spent the morning checking out what star Tom Laughlin has been up to these days at the Billy Jack site. It seems Tom Laughlin — who is now 81 — thinks a new Billy Jack film could happen soon. I’d definitely be in line. But until then, we still have the classic. Long Live Billy Jack!
You wanna know what I think I’m gonna do then, just for the hell of it?
Tell me.
I’m gonna take this right foot, and I’m gonna whop you on that side of your face. And you wanna know something? There’s not a damn thing you’re gonna be able to do about it.
Really?
Really.
