BOSTON — I got into town on Monday, checked into hotel in the Back Bay, and went right to Davio’s for a lobster roll and Sam Adams on tap. That night I walked to Fenway on Newbury Street — perfect cool Boston night — and watched the Sox beat the Twins in extra innings. Tuesday was filled with back-to-back book signings and press across Boston highlighted with a talk with the great Joan Parker at Barnes & Noble. Another real highlight was having lunch (along with a whiskey and several glasses of wine) at the historic Tavern Club with new pal Jim Bride. The club is a private society that has hosted readings for Mark Twain and Rudyard Kipling! Truly old Boston with dark paneled walls and linen table cloths. Now I’m onto New York City for a mass book signing at the Putnam mothership and then a talk on Spenser at the Mysterious Bookshop in TriBeCa with my pal, Otto Penzler. More soon — Ace
